Heatless Hair Curling Techniques

If your hair has been damaged because of over using straightening irons or curling wands it's time to put them to one side. In this post we will share with you how you can get beautiful curls in your hair without using any heat. Curly is in this Autumn so if there is ever a time to try embracing curly, then it is now.

So let’s get to it.

The first technique that we are going to share with you will help you achieve soft waves without using any heat or even any mousse.

Whilst your hair is damp organise it into four equal sections. Four sections will give you a nice soft wave, but if you want a tighter curl then you could add more sections. Twist each section (in any direction) but, make sure you twist all sections in the same direction. If the twist falls out of place before your hair has fully dried, repeat the twisting process throughout the time it takes for your hair to dry fully.

Once your hair is fully dry, flip your hair back and forth for the curls to unravel and be revealed.

If you are looking for something that will take minimal time before work or school in the morning then this next method is a great option. All you will need to complete this technique is a few hair grips and a sectioning comb.

After towel drying your hair in an evening take sections of your hair and twist. Wrap the twisted section around into a little circle and use the pin to hold the twisted section in place on your scalp. You may need to test this technique out a few times before you find the right section thickness. In general, the smaller the section the tighter the curl and bigger sections will create much softer curls.

The sections that have been twisted in place and pinned down should resemble little spiral buns. So if it looks a bit strange, then you are on the right track.

You will then need to sleep on these spiral buns overnight. The hair will dry whilst pinned in this position and beautiful curls will be created. When you wake up in the morning, simply unpin all of the spiral buns to reveal your curly hair.

Run your fingers through the curls or use a blow dryer to break the sections. Do not use a brush or comb to break the sections as this will ruin your curls and give you a bad case of the frizz.
