Grey Hair Is No Longer A Nightmare

Going grey is no longer something to fear. In fact, many young people are choosing to dye their hair grey in order to embrace this latest trend. If you don't believe us then take a closer look at the latest fashion show or Heat magazine. A whole host of fashion designers and A listers are currently rocking this trend.

Celebrities such as Lourdes Leon, Kyle Jenner and Rihanna have all experimented with a shade of grey even though they are only in their teens and twenties. However, don't be fooled into thinking that it is just for young adults. Stars like Kate Moss and Nicole Kidman have also proved that going grey is great.

Let's face it, if Kate Moss has done it then it must be cool.

When we turn to the catwalk to spot this trend, Jean-Paul Gaultier and Chanel are just two of the designers using models with grey hair. Convinced yet?

Letting your grey shine through could also save you a fair bit of time and you could potentially be saving money too. After all, a trip to the hairdressers to get your hair dyed every six weeks is not a cheap habit.

Depending on how brave you are, there are a few different ways to transform your locks. For the most daring individual why not ask for an all over grey colour at your next hair appointment. For those a little more sceptical, why not try an ice blonde colour mixed with a silver toner.

For those that do take the plunge, make sure you join the grey hair revolution on social media. You'll be joining thousands of other people who have made the decision to embrace the colour grey. So take a selfie and don't forget to include the hashtag #grannyhair.

If you're looking for inspiration, then why not check out instagram where you will find thousands of grey instagrammers.

In some ways the fact that women have been brave enough to embrace grey hair has be an act of feminism. For too long men have been considered distinguished if they sported a 'salt and pepper' look whereas women with grey hair have been described as many things that are not quite as flattering.

For those people that have still not made a decision on whether to go grey, why not try a silver shampoo. These often brighten hair and will help remove yellow tones. These yellow and unflattering tones are often the work of grey hair. Generally grey hair can be much dryer than younger hair and therefore retains pollutants like cigarette smoke, giving the hair a brassy effect.
